"I have been running a positive campaign about the hard working people of Portage. I've worked very hard to steer clear of this," he said. Snyder said after the May primary and before he launched his campaign in July, he said he "wasn't going to fuel the fire" of what appeared to be a split Democratic Party in the city. -taken from times article "Signs stir dirty politics charge" Tuesday, October 30, 2007
Dear Portage Friends,
Thank you for visiting my web site. We hope that you will find it helpful as you try and make an informed decision regarding the future of Portage.
Over the past few months, I have met with many of you regarding your concerns for the city of Portage. We live in a complex city with many issues and concerns. I am the candidate that is suited best to build on the progress we have all seen in our city. In the next four years, we will make decisions for our city that will have an impact over the next 50 years and beyond.
The present administration has conducted city business in a very bipartisan manner. This has allowed Portage to grow and this growth benefits everyone. I have demonstrated that my vision is also bipartisan and I am the best candidate to move Portage forward by working with both parties. It is important to keep this vital quality in Portage’s mayoral office.
I have been appointed to the Mayor’s Commission along with the City Planning Commission by Mayor Olson. These appointments demonstrate confidence in judgment for the city along with my experience.
Mayor Olson has endorsed my opponent. I respect his decision to do that, and I look forward to continuing the relationship I have enjoyed with Mayor Olson and his staff.
